23 Life Lessons Learned In 23 Years

How old would you be if you didn’t know how old you are? – Satchel Paige

Yay! It’s my birthday today.

I don’t know why but I don’t like celebrating it today! Okay, it’s not a big deal.

Let’s get into the post.

This post is a collection of few random things I learned in 23 years of my life.

  1. The secret to online success – don’t open Internet first thing in the morning.
  2. Music heals everything (especially this and this – don’t know how many times I played them both).
  3. When you’re in trouble, keep calm and control your tongue.
  4. Never drink and drive.
  5. The surefire way to make money is – help as many people as possible.
  6. Less is always more.
  7. Don’t depend on anyone too much in this world!
  8. Learn to save money. Emergency funds are very important.
  9. If we do not feel grateful for what we already have, what makes us think we’d be happy with more?
  10. After much trail and error, I learned minimalist blog designs convert more.
  11. Some people are like clouds. When they disappear, it’s a brighter day.
  12. If possible, try to kill procrastination – it makes easy things hard, hard things harder.
  13. Work hard (really hard) and be nice to people on your way up :)
  14. The pain you feel today, will be the strength you feel tomorrow
  15. Do not call procrastination laziness, call it fear.
  16. Be the type of person you want to meet (for me, it’s Aamir khan, I love his off-screen presence).
  17. When you’re up, your friends know who you are.  When you’re down, you know who your friends are.
  18. No one can go back and start a new beginning, but anyone can start today and make a new ending.
  19. Start with why before setting any goal (more here)
  20. Aim HIGH! (My next goal is to get 10K email subscribers on LBT, what’s yours?)
  21. Aiming high won’t work if you don’t have a plan (planning is everything)
  22. Don’t teach others what you can’t do
  23. Take time everyday to praise someone – but always be genuine.

BTW here’s my recent picture.

A special thanks to Sijo Joy for remembering me to write about my “birthday post” on LBT. I wrote a post exactly an year back (here).

  8. A very warm happy birth day to you; the lesson no 14 is unforgettable for me; once I read over a desktop of somebody that winners are those who grab opportunities from problems. Now this one is the second inspiration quote that I will never forget. Thanks for sharing such wonderful lessons that equally work for everyone.

  9. Happy Birthday Rahul! Not sure if it’s today or when exactly since your post isn’t dated and it’s not mentioned here. Having just met you today after visiting my blog I would say that you’ve put together a pretty darn good list.

Oh, I only wish I were 23 again and had my whole life ahead of me. One thing I will tell you to add to that list, never have any regrets. They do no one any good at all so stay true to yourself, be grateful for what you have and who you are and life will be a fabulous journey.

Thank you for sharing this list with us and I’ve done a few myself over the years. Of course this year I definitely didn’t but maybe next year.

Have a fabulous week and I love the picture too! Cool ride! Happy Birthday!

  10. Quotes are great source of inspiration for us. In a little age of 23 years you developed your intellect to that much level to talk philosophically but with practical approach. Most of them need deep mind to understand them fully but those who have mind can understand them with little efforts. I will remember most of them because each one of them has deep thoughts. Thanks buddy

  11. Rahul, I’m 23, I read it completely and I must say that this is the most worth reading post I read this week. Belated Birthday Wishes, wishing you great success in your future endeavours.

I’m a fan of Yanni music too, My Favorites: Santorini, Storm, Voyage, You only live once and Truth of Touch. And my most favorite of them all. “Until the last moment” (I listen to this before I go to sleep, very soothing)

  12. Great Rahul !!
I visit your website first time, but really i impressed a lot. No doubt that you are a good and successful blogger. Your all post are good, but i check few of them, which i prefer best.

You are doing great work, keep it up !!

All the best for your future :)

  13. Exactly music therapy is best it never lets you disappointed and keeps you fresh and motivating. me love too and the tracks you shared are awesome. playing it right now.

  14. Happy Belated Birthday Rahul.

Going by the count, I should be able to give 40 odd lessons but not attempting now :-) You seem to have matured beyond your age. Good luck in your life and blogging career!

  15. First of all, Belated Happy Birthday bro. These are some excellent tips and are relevant for every person whether he/she is a blogger or not. Life is all about living and dreaming.
Afterall, We live everyday. We only die once. So, make everyday a new begining and live it to the fullest.

  16. Happy belated birthday first of all now back to the post i agreed with all the points but liked one most you have to know how to control on your tongue if you are doing so no mess will around you all simple is that just focus on you not on others bulshit :)
