  1. Almost i am using all Except #4 and #8. I would highly recoment do use DIGG DIGG instead of using ShareBar. JetPack, I am using it from Day one :D.
I have to install #4 Plugin. Thanks mate for sharing.

    • Yeah it’ll be useful for a tech blog like yours Amit. Thanks for stopping by.

    • Amrik Virdi says:

Allowing your visitors to easily share your blog posts to their social networks has the potential to bring viral traffic and new visitors to your blog. Letting your visitors share the content easily without having to scroll back and forth provides a good user experience. GetSocial’s floating social share box will never go out of sight. I am using it and you should try it Rahul.

  2. Paul Santosh says:

I almost have them all, still need to add some. I don’t think JetPack is a must-have plugin.
Anyway, thanks for this awesome post..

    • Amrik Virdi says:

Why do you think it’s not must-have plugin?
As all we know that self hosted wordpress site have nothing with the wordpress.com but this plugin is very useful , as most of the plugins we install are working on our website same server which some time make our server over loaded but this plugin is very light coz it mostly monitors your site from the wordpress.com.

I call the tittle “must have plugin for wordpress”.
It has a great importance for every blog, This monitors your website visits, page view and more.

      • Well if you want to track your stats, you can use Google Analytics instead.

      • Jetpack is a very heavy weigt. Contact form 7 also. Try installing P3 profiler and you will see which plugins eat the most. I think that just unstalling those two will make your site twice faster. I would also look for different spam protection, Akismet is not free anymore. For SEO use Wp SEO by Yoast…

  3. First of all thanks for listing those useful plugins. I have a Blog in blogger, but if I use WordPress in future, surely will add the plugins you listed. I think and many bloggers say that, Yoast SEO plugin gives good result than All in one SEO pack, Rahul can I know your opinion on this Plugin ?

    • Biggest disadvantage with Yoast SEO plugin is, if you uninstall the plugin once, your blog’s category permalinks don’t work! In many aspects, all in one seo is better than Yoast!

      Keep visiting Hari :)

      • I too agree that disadvantage of Yoast, but Yoast Gives Better ranking in search results than the All in one SEO pack. You can ask to other bloggers too who use Yoast, even I see the improvement of some small blogs in search results which use Yoast and has more traffic for them in Search Engines

        • Twitter:
Harry I have asked this question in many forums and other websites from Bloggers. I heard good thing about All in one SEO more than Yoast SEO plugin. All in one offers a lot of great features also. Hope you got your answer.

        • Amrik Virdi says:

All in one seo plugin is good if you are a beginner to wordpress seo and if you want more advanced features then yoast is the best bet to go for.

  4. Great list bro.
Unfortunately I can’t use any of them as I am on blogger. But will surely use them in the near future.
Thanks for this amazing list :)

  5. Twitter:
I’m using total 18 plugins on my blog. I’m using all of the plugins you mentioned in this post without that one which Ileane suggested you. Will use that soon. Anyway a must have plugin for every WordPress is All in one SEO not Jetpack.

  6. it is a great list of wordpress plugin .. i used all plugin of this list . and if you suggest some plugin for security of wordpress blog, because i see multiple login attempt in my wordpress blog.

    • Twitter:
@Abhilash I also get failed login attempts like you on my WP blog. I use “AntiVirus” WordPress plugin to keep viruses away from my blog and “Secure WP” is great plugin to keep your WordPress secure.

You can also lock protect your Wp-login from fail attempts by using “Login Lockdown” WordPress plugin. Hope it helped you.

  7. yippee i am no.1 in Top commentator widgets =D *right place at the right time* lol

great post , i use almost 70% of plugins whats on the list.

  8. Hi bro,
Nice lists of plugins here, anyway, I’m using most of them on my blog right now though not all the 15 mentioned here but would try and see if I will add some more plugins later :)

Btw: Thanks for post this via JustRetweet :)

  9. Trung Nguyen says:

For those using WordPress SEO framework like Thesis and Genesis, I’d recommended them should remove All in SEO pack and WordPress SEO plugin to help your site loading faster, Nice post of WordPress plugins collection :)

  10. I am using almost all the plugins in the post.
I use SEO by Yoast, instead of All in one SEO.
    Well which is better?

  11. That is why i like blogger because you don’t have to use these plugins to make your blog user friendly. My blogger theme has each and everythin embed in it and i just have to enable features in it.

  12. Great list of Best WordPress plugins. Some of them are new to me.Thanks for share :)

  13. Hi Rahul! thanks for mentioning me in the post!

I am using many of these. I switched from Share Bar to DiggDigg because they didn’t have a Pinterest button, but both of these plugins are great. Google Analytics and Google XML SiteMap plugins are almost mandatory these days!

    • Hi Ileane :)

Ohh so I should consider using DiggDigg. I’ll give it a try soon. But, I believe that less is more(while sharing content).

More options you give to your readers, they choose nothing(#read somewhere). Actually that’s the truth.

That’s why I use only 3 social sharing buttons using Sharebar! And it’s been working fantastic for me.

Thanks for stopping by and dropping your comment with the tail of my favt. post by Mitz ;)

  14. Hi Rahul! Thanks for sharing this post. I have just come to WordPress and looking for such a post that may help me for better experience with wordpress. Some of the plugin that you have pointed I am using for my wp blog.

  15. Abdul Rehman says:

Hi Rahul, interesting article. I wrote a similar one on my blog yesterday but it concerns only the social plug-ins and their importance after the Google Penguin update. Nice blog, I’ll be visiting more often now. :)

  16. Romy Singh says:

    Hello Rahul,

Right Now, I’m only using 3 plugins from all of your mentioned plugins, because i believe that the more plugin we use on our blog the more heavy our blog gets. We able to see many errors like increase in loading speed of our blog, higher bug infection chances, blog crashing and many other disadvantages. So i would suggest that we should try to use as minimum number of plugins on our blog possible. :)

    Thanks for great post.. :)

    Romy Singh

    • That’s why I’ve mentioned it clearly a note in the beginning of this post, all of the above plugins are: light weight.

You can check out my blog’s loading time, even after I’m using 15+ WP plugins it’s loading fast.

Yeah, I agree that more plugins make burden though but it depends on their complexity in coding.

  17. As I read through this list, I realize I have a lot of work to do. I have been wanting to plug in “Top Commentors” and “Popular Posts” but was waiting to hire someone to do it for me. I had no clue. I am so not good at these things.
Here, you made it so easy to do. I appreciate that. This is the first time I’m on your blog and will return to learn from you.
    Thank you,
    Donna Merrill

  18. Good list, I’m using almost all of these currently. I’m going to have to check out the auto-responder. Hadn’t seen that one yet, many thanks!

  19. “Smart Arcives Reloaded –”

Correct it if you find any mistakes there.

THanks.. Well by the way I don’t use WordPress still I read it.

I advise you to use DIGGDIGG instead of SHAREBAR.

  20. nice details friend .. these plugins sure sounds good i have top 5 but others are good too i may add them up as well..!

  21. I’m surprised you don’t have a plugin for internal linking, and I love the way LinkWithin sits on your blog…perfect. It’s nice to get an inside look at plugins that other bloggers are using. I have a radically different set of plugins with just two from your list, but it works good, so I’m happy.

  22. Great list of plugins that you have here. I use a few of these on my blog and I must say that I love them.

Thanks for the list. Keep on blogging :D

  23. Great post. I really like most of the plugins you write about (some of which I mentioned in a post earlier this week on my five essential WordPress plugins) – but a few of these are new to me, and I’m excited to check them out.

Can’t wait to install Dynamic to Top on my site – I think that would be very useful. One question: what do you think is the LEAST useful WordPress plugin other sites swear by?

  24. Thank you for posting this! – Especially for mentioning LinkWithin. I’ve been thinking of how to manually do this and this is a fantastic way to go about it. Simple, automatic, and best of all, FREE :)

  25. Hi Rahul kuntala, Thanks for the great list of plugins bro. Here some are new to me to hear the plugin names. By the can you please explain the use of Jetpack Plugin.

  26. Heading off to get my hands on some of these plugins. Awesome collection Rahul :)

  27. Hi Rahul,

The Plugins you shared are already being used by my blog, I’d like see a list of plugins for Traffic on LBT! This would be Great am subscribed ! Thanks for the Post

    Best Regards,
Mairaj Pirzada Executive Officer and Co-author at Guide Please!

  28. You can run your blog very easily without Contact Form 7 , Dynamic to Top and Google Analytics for WordPress.

You can use Google Docs Form instead of CF7.
Dynamic to top Button can be easily added with a simple code.
You can very easily integrate Google Analytics’ code very easily in your theme files(mostly footer.php). There is no need to use that plugin.

Hence, 12 (15-3) plugins are sufficient for a blog :)

  29. Thanks for sharing, i onlu using anti virus for preventing spam. I think i waill go back using akismet.

  30. The comments are as informative as your post. :-D

  31. Hey Rahul, what is the name of this sharing plugin you are using, which automatically slides till the post end.

  32. I have tried all the plugins you have listed there except WP Comment Auto Responder, will give it a try,,and i would also suggest you to use plugin like “Login lock” which prevents multiple login attempts

  33. All the plugins are top – class !!!!! thanks 4 sharing !!!!!!!! :)

  34. I was actually searching for the solution or you can say the right selection option between all in one seo pack and plugin by yoast. As I found that you are recommending all in one seo pack.

  35. From my experience I can easily tell you that Yoast is much better if you really want to rank well! All in one seo pack is good if just don’t even know the a,b,c of SEO. But if you want nice traffic then Yoast’s plugin is the way to go!

  36. Hi,
I read in many places that seo by yoast is powerful than all in one seo.
I use easy wp seo though. Whats the purpose of jetpack .
    regards
    vinodh

  37. I have one question which plugin will be better to use out of WP Super cache and W3 Total cache. Because few days ago i was using W3 Total cache..plugin bu my website started showing overloaded in just then i removed it from cPanel .. now my website is working well.
    http://onlinetestschool.com/best-or-necessary-plugins-for-your-wordpress-website/

thanks for sharing your appreciable knowldge

  38. This is a great list and I have to say that now I will add “Dynamic to Top”.
What do you think about the unknown plugin Feedweb. It is not perfect but I do believe that it is a very helpful plugin. Do you agree

  39. I’m using almost all except the #8, #12 & #13. Plugins are the real weapon for any web blog. They play vital role for making any blog best.

For SEO purposes I was using “Platinum SEO Pack” but from now I will use the “All In One SEO Pack” plugin. I take a look on it and found that All In One SEO Pack plugin has 18 times more downloads than Platinum SEO Pack plugin.

  40. Hi Rahul, Can you share some free plugins that related to Akismet. that you mention akismet is more important but this plugins are paid.

After all nice information… i am going to installed some plugins that you mentions.

  41. when i install this plugin then it is asking for “You’ve just installed WordPress SEO by Yoast. Please helps us improve it by allowing us to gather anonymous usage stats so we know which configurations, plugins and themes to test with” Allow Tracking or not, what should i do,
    Allow tracking or not.

  42. Instead of all in one SEO pack i would love to go with Yoast SEO plugin, though it has some built in flaws but still i think this is the best free seo plugin available on the internet. What do you think ? Do you know any such plugin which automatically send an email to all the commentators informing about your latest post.

  43. hi rahul,
i have technology niche blog which does got comments. what to do?
    suggest me….
